Buganda Kingdom to Celebrate Kabaka’s 58th Birthday
As the Kingdom prepares to celebrate Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s 58th birthday on 13th April at Lubiri grounds, several activities have been organized to precede the main event.
According the chairperson organizing committee Ahmed Bamwayana who is also the Minister for Water, Energy and Mineral Resources in Buganda Kingdom who was addressing a press conference on Tuesday 26th March at Bulange, Mengo, activities will commence on 5th April with the commissioning of tree planting across all counties in Buganda with the main function to be officiated by the Katikkiro Eng. J.B. Walusimbi in Kyaggwe. This will be followed by a drama show by the Gand Boys later in the evening at Serena Hotel Kampala and all proceeds from this show will go to the Nabagereka Development Foundation.
Activities will also include an exhibition at Lubiri which will run from 5th to 12th April. Communal work to clean and clear the palace of any dirty will be carried out 6th April. This will be followed by prayers across Churches around the Kingdom to be led by the Seventh Day Adventist Church on 7th April, 2013.
On the 9th April, 2013, free medical camps will be commissioned in Lubiri to offer free medication and immunization to Kabaka’s people until the 12th of April, 2013 in a move to improve people’s health in Buganda. Launching of the King Size Society, this society was initiated and tasked with spearheading the campaign against moral degeneration and immorality among people in Buganda. Juma prayers to thank God for the 58 years He has so far given to the Kabaka will also be held on 12th April, 2013.
Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II was born born on 13th April 1955 at Mulago hospital to Ssekabaka Edward Fredrick Luwangula Muteesa II and Sarah Kisosonkole.
